Atlas is a world model trained across text, images, video and 3D that can turn a single image into controlled viewpoints and generate up to one minute of 1440p video
It can reconstruct real spaces from just a few images, create explicit 3D environments and simulate what robot cameras would see while moving through those spaces
Atlas can also generate varied robot-training environments and simulate physical interactions, with World Labs beginning partner trials after raising $1 billion this year
💦 Dyson’s $499 AI toothbrush can find and floss tooth gaps
Dyson’s CameraJet uses a 100,000-pixel camera and machine learning to identify gaps between your teeth, analyzing 28 images per second while you brush
When it spots a gap, the toothbrush can fire a targeted burst of mouth rinse within about 100 milliseconds, combining brushing and water-flossing in one device
CameraJet also connects to the MyDyson app for live inside-the-mouth video, cleaning guidance and coverage maps, with Dyson saying camera footage isn’t stored on device or cloud

🔎 AI RESEARCH: AI Discovered Better Algorithms Than Humans Had Known for Decades
What researchers studied:
Google DeepMind built AlphaEvolve, an AI system that combines Gemini models with automated testing to discover and improve algorithms for math and computing problems.
What they found:
AlphaEvolve discovered a way to multiply 4×4 complex matrices using 48 scalar multiplications, improving on a method based on Strassen’s famous 1969 algorithm.
Researchers also tested it on more than 50 open math problems. AlphaEvolve rediscovered best-known solutions in roughly 75% of cases and improved the previous best results in about 20% of them.
Why it matters:
AI may be able to do more than solve problems using known methods. It could help scientists and mathematicians discover better algorithms that humans have missed for years.
