Radar News Brief
🍎 Apple sues OpenAI, alleging theft of secret hardware designs

Apple filed a federal lawsuit against OpenAI, io Products, Tang Tan, and Chang Liu, alleging stolen trade secrets accelerated its AI hardware development push
Apple says Tan requested confidential parts during interviews, while Liu allegedly used lingering system access to download secret files after moving directly from Apple to OpenAI
OpenAI denies seeking rivals’ trade secrets, while the lawsuit could delay its hardware ambitions and deepen tensions with Apple as both companies move toward direct competition
💾 AI’s next bottleneck may be memory, not smarter models

SK Hynix says memory shortages could become the most severe in 2027, with demand potentially exceeding production capacity and tight supply lasting until 2030
Microsoft is routing some Excel and Outlook requests to internal MAI models, reducing costs while reserving stronger external systems for complex tasks where quality matters most
GPT-5.6 remains Microsoft 365 Copilot’s preferred model, while Microsoft uses cheaper internal models for simpler Excel and Outlook tasks when top quality is not needed

⚡ Steal This Workflow
Turn Every Meeting Into Tasks Automatically

Stop letting action items disappear after meetings.
Use this simple workflow:
Capture the meeting
Use Fathom, Otter, or Fireflies to record and summarize the conversation.
Structure the notes
Send the transcript to ChatGPT or Claude and ask it to extract:
Key decisions
Action items
Task owners
Deadlines
Unresolved questions
Create the tasks
Use Zapier or Make to send each action item to Notion, ClickUp, Asana, or Trello.
Copy this prompt:
Extract every confirmed action item from this meeting. Format the results as: Task, Owner, Deadline, Priority and Status. Do not invent missing information. Write “Not specified” when necessary.
The result:
Every meeting ends with clear tasks, owners, and next steps.
🔎 AI RESEARCH: Claude May Have a Hidden “Mental Workspace”

What researchers studied:
Anthropic examined Claude’s internal activity while it solved problems, detected errors, and planned responses.
What they found:
Claude appears to use a small internal space—called J-space—to hold important concepts and intermediate steps without writing them in its answer.
For example, it could privately identify a code error or calculate part of a math problem before responding. This does not prove Claude is conscious.
Why it matters:
AI may process more internally than we can see from its final response.
